This block seminar focuses on fostering oracy—the ability to speak and listen effectively—in the English language classroom. The course is divided into two key phases. In the first part, participants will explore the theoretical foundations of oracy, examining its role in language acquisition and its integration into classroom practice. Topics include the importance of oral communication skills, strategies for promoting student engagement, and techniques for scaffolding spoken interaction.
In the second part, students will put theory into practice through Micro Teachings. These practical sessions provide participants with the opportunity to design and implement short teaching sequences that enhance learners' speaking and listening abilities. Constructive peer feedback and reflective discussions will follow each teaching segment to refine pedagogical skills.
