Qualifikationsziele
Doctoral students get insights into recent developments in quantitative
decision-making and optimization. They learn and practice how to discuss
a paper. Further, they can receive inspirations for their own research
by learning about the design, methods, and open questions in current
research.

Kommentar/Beschreibung

Dokt!OR is an event tailored for PhD students with an interest in Operations Research. It takes place on 1-4 September. There are two sections to this seminar:

First, participation in the actual Dokt!OR seminar, which consists of a workshop on "Giving Better Presentations", a workshop on "Making an Impact", a tutorial on "Optimization and AI", a master class on "Mixed Integer Optimization with Constraint Learning", and a panel discussion on "Careers in OR". All of these classes take place on 1 September.

Second, you participate in the plenary and semi-plenary talks of the OR conference throughout 2-4 September. These are:
  • Wednesday, September 2, 9am (plenary) and 3pm (semi-plenary)
  • Thursday, September 3, 10:30am (plenary) and 4pm (semi-plenary)
  • Friday, September 4, 10:30am (semi-plenary) and 11:45am (plenary)
