Leistungsnachweis	Successful participation in the seminar requires written and oral performance. The written assignment consists of an approx. 15-page term paper. The oral performance consists of a presentation of your own work (approx. 20 minutes) and an active discussion (approx. 10 minutes) of your own and other students' work. Portfolio examination

Qualifikationsziele	Students who have participated in the “Master's Seminar on Data and Information Management” module: explain their own scientific approach to writing their seminar paper, apply the fundamentals of scientific work and interpret their research topic scientifically, demonstrate connections between their own work and topics from research in the field of data and information management, acquire knowledge of presentation and communication techniques, formulate their subject-related positions and problem solutions and defend them with arguments, assess the quality of sources, and develop the skills to systematically and structurally comprehend specialist literature on a specific issue and evaluate its content. The aim of the seminar is to deepen knowledge in selected areas of Information Systems. Students learn the basics of scientific work in order to be able to critically examine the limits of existing knowledge. During the presentation, students improve their presentation and communication skills and learn to participate in scientific discussions.
Workload	Seminar 2 SWS (30 hours attendance time and 180 hours individual work time) The calculation is based on 15 semester weeks (14 lecture weeks + 1 examination week) and each SWS is counted as 60 minutes.

Kommentar/Beschreibung

The seminar explores current topics in Information Systems that fall within the chair's main areas of research.
Written assignment: Seminar paper on selected seminar topics. The seminar paper should involve an academic examination of existing theory and, where applicable, methods in the respective subject area. The seminar paper may also include the student's own empirical research.
Oral performance: Students will present their work (problem definition, objectives, approach, and results) in a presentation and discuss it with the other seminar participants.
