Here you will find some information on conducting the seminar ONLINE:
  • The online seminar expressly requires that the participants are present in the seminar with video and sound at all times.
  • The webinar will be held via Zoom, you will receive the access link here in the Stud.IP event in good time.
  • Please use a laptop or desktop computer to participate. Participation with a smartphone is not possible.
  • Please log in a few minutes before the start of the course (s.t.) so that any problems can be resolved before the start of the course.
  • Please test the microphone, speakers and webcam on your PC in advance.
To avoid feedback, it is best to leave your microphone switched off for the time being. As soon as you want to speak, you can switch it on. If you have a headset, please use it (but this is not a prerequisite for participation).
  • Please use your real name (first name and surname) in Zoom and leave your camera switched on during the entire course. Only then will we be able to issue you with a certificate of attendance.

Contents:
This two-day interactive seminar, held in English, offers the students an insight into the impact of culture on everyday international business dealings. The participants will be made aware, by means of simulation and role play, of their own cultural “filter” (UCL) and how this affects their perception of and interaction with international business partners. The seminar will offer the students strategies to successfully navigate cultural differences and create synergies, and tools to communicate effectively within international teams. A practical framework for making sense of differences will be introduced, along with mindfulness strategies and emotional intelligence tools. These all serve to develop self-confidence and avoid misunderstandings when interacting across cultures.

Learning objectives:
  • Awareness and deeper understanding of own cultural identity
  • Effective strategies such as Emotional Intelligence for dealing with culture shock
  • Practical application of the cultural dimensions as a framework for dealing with diversity and creating synergies
  • Understanding of the complexity of working with international teams
  • Models, skills and tools to avoid misunderstanding and develop confidence communicating in the international business world

Folgende Regeln gelten für die Anmeldung:
  • Die Teilnehmenden der Veranstaltung: 60000A UNENTSCHULDIGT GEFEHLT WiSe 24/25 (WiSe 24/25) werden automatisch auf eine Warteliste der Priorität 2 eingetragen.
  • Die Anmeldung ist möglich von 01.04.2025, 12:00 bis 15.07.2025, 23:59.
  • Es wird eine festgelegte Anzahl von Plätzen in den Veranstaltungen verteilt.
    Die Plätze werden in der Reihenfolge der Anmeldung vergeben.
  • Diese Regel gilt bis 15.05.2025 00:00.
    Die Anmeldung zu maximal 5 Veranstaltungen des Anmeldesets ist erlaubt.
  • Folgende Bedingung muss zur Anmeldung erfüllt sein:
