Content:
This course will explore the modern challenges leaders face in managing a post-pandemic, digital, fast changing and global world. Traditional western management approaches and attitudes will be challenged and the case will be made for a new form of leadership, taking into consideration the importance of personal development necessary for the effective modern leader and the requirement for flexibility and cultural adaptability in today’s global marketplace.
The students will get the practical opportunity to practice leadership tools and self-awareness techniques, and to develop their own personal leadership vision. The latest developments in leadership theory and techniques will be presented, with real life examples and case studies from leadership programs at the United Nations, the private sector and top business schools.

Learning objectives:
The students...
  • will be sensitized to the challenges of leadership in a fast-paced, culturally diverse and rapidly changing world. The course will address how leaders can best connect and bond virtually in the “new-normal” post-pandemic world
  • will gain a clear understanding of the difference between “managing” and leading people; and the relevance of this in today’s global workplace.
  • gain insights into how their own personal and cultural biography affects their leadership style
  • recognise the vital importance of managing themselves and get to practice emotional intelligence techniques
  • will discover their own authentic style of leadership and be given the chance to tap into their individual sense of purpose and vision for their career as future leaders.
  • will learn to current motivational leadership tools such as feedback guidelines and conflict management tools and will be given the chance to practice and internalise these
