Please prepare a 5-minute (max.) presentation about any topic (professional or private) suited for an unknown audience. You may present by speaking only or additionally use any kind of visual support (slides, flipchart, etc.). Please practice to be able to stay in time. The file (if you use slides) needs to be sent to the instructor before the seminar.
Also bring an 80 cent stamp (or be ready to buy it from the instructor).

Learning Outcomes:
Students will
  • be able to increase confidence, control and charisma when presenting content, ideas and opinions
  • know how to optimize the key message to attract the audience
  • develop abilities to prepare and deliver memorable presentations
  • accept stage fright as helpful
  • consider and use body language as important part of presentations
  • be able to create/use good visual aids
  • learn how to optimize online presence

Contents:
Speaking in front of an audience needs practice and self-confidence. During the seminar you will have numerous occasions to speak in front of the group and get feedback for it. Giving and receiving feedback will be the powerful tool to find out what makes a good speaker and what personal strengths you may already have. Identify the points you may work on in the future. We will look at stage fright as obstacle as well as support for a good presentation. You will also find out about the impact of body language and how it effects any presentation. pPractice getting to the point and learn to give and receive feedback. Your visual aids will be analyzed and improved. Prepared presentations as well as impromptu speeches will be given by all participants during the two days
